MDE Impacts

Overview

MDE Impacts are the official accountability results published by the Mississippi Department of Education, loaded into Equity Analytics so you can put the state's numbers next to the ones the platform calculates. When the state release lands, this is where you confirm that what Equity Analytics projected matches what MDE certified, component by component.

Where It Lives

  • The MDE Impacts view is available for a district or school.
  • It is not available at the teacher level.
  • Records are listed by year, most recent first.
  • HTML, PDF, and CSV exports are available.

How To Use It

  1. Open MDE Impacts for a district or school.
  2. Pick the year you want to check.
  3. Compare the MDE components and rating against the platform's calculated impacts for the same year.

What Data Feeds It

MDE Impacts are imported from the state's published accountability results, not calculated by Equity Analytics:

  • Each record ties to the year and assessment it represents.
  • Because these are the state's historical results, an MDE Impact can include components that are no longer part of the live model (for example, U.S. History in years it was scored). See the note on U.S. History.

Common Questions

  • Why don't I see MDE Impacts for a teacher? This view is district and school only. The state publishes results at those levels.
  • Why is there no MDE record for a year? A record only exists for years where MDE results have been published and loaded.
  • The MDE number differs from our calculated impact. That comparison is the point of this view. A difference is worth a closer look at the underlying scores; reach out if you need help reconciling it.
