Historical Performance
Overview
Historical Performance shows how a district, school, or teacher has performed on a single accountability component across multiple years. Where the impact view answers "where do we stand this year," historical performance answers "are we trending up or down," lining the same component up year over year so the direction is obvious.
You pick one component to follow, for example Math Proficiency or English Growth for the lowest 25%, and the page lays out that component's results across every year that district, school, or teacher has impact data.
Where It Lives
- The Historical Performance tile appears on a district, school, or teacher page once it has impact data.
- The view is the same for all three; it is simply scoped to whichever page you opened it from.
- A CSV and PDF export are available for the component and view you are looking at.
How To Use It
- Open Historical Performance from a district, school, or teacher page.
- Choose the component you want to follow. Available components include:
- English, Math, and Science Proficiency
- U.S. History Proficiency (for years it was part of the model; see the note below)
- English Growth (all students) and English Growth (lowest 25%)
- Math Growth (all students) and Math Growth (lowest 25%)
- Choose the score type if more than one applies.
- Read the year-over-year results to see the trend, then export to CSV or PDF if you need it for a report.
What Data Feeds It
Historical Performance reads from the impacts Equity Analytics has already calculated for that district, school, or teacher:
- Each year's scores produce that year's impacts.
- The page gathers its impacts for the chosen component and orders them by year and quarter.
Nothing is imported directly here. As new years of scores are processed and their impacts calculated, those years appear in the trend automatically.
Common Questions
- Why don't I see the tile? Historical Performance only appears once there is impact data. A brand-new teacher or school with no processed impacts yet will not show it.
- Why is a year missing from the trend? Only years with calculated impacts appear. A year with no processed scores will not show up.
- Can I compare two components at once? The view follows one component at a time. Switch the component selection to look at another.
- Why does U.S. History only show older years? U.S. History stopped being an accountability component as of Spring 2026. Districts that have prior-year U.S. History data can still review it here for those years, but it does not appear for Spring 2026 forward. See Impact Components.
