Readiness Metric

Overview

The Readiness Metric represents a student's overall college and career readiness based on a set of predefined sources. Each student can have only one Readiness Metric, and it is automatically calculated from their individual Readiness Metric Sources.

This metric aggregates scores across multiple domains using Mississippi’s accountability model scale (0 to 1.0), providing both an assessment-level and an achievement-level score.

How It Works

Readiness Metrics are not entered manually. Readiness Metrics are generated using a student’s associated Readiness Metric Sources, such as ACT, SAT, NCRC, ASVAB, and Diploma records.

The system automatically:

  1. Gathers the highest available score for each metric type (ACT, SAT, etc.)
  2. Converts the raw score into a readiness level (0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, or 1.0)
  3. Assigns those values to the student’s Readiness Metric record

Metric Components

Field Description
ACT Level Readiness level based on ACT score
SAT Level Readiness level based on SAT score
NCRC Level Readiness level based on NCRC certificate level
ASVAB Level Readiness level based on ASVAB score
Diploma Level Readiness level based on diploma type
Assessment Readiness Indicator Highest value among ACT, SAT, NCRC, ASVAB
Achievement Readiness Indicator Value based on diploma level

The Assessment Readiness Indicator reflects the student’s best assessment readiness, while the Achievement Readiness Indicator reflects diploma completion and endorsement level.
